Flowering Thunder

She loves him
And he loves her
But they’re too afraid to confess
Their love for one another
He thinks of her
While she thinks of him
But it’s so hard to express
What all these hiccups mean

He types in her number
And she types in his
When they finally muster the courage
To dial the number in,
Both phones show busy
Whilst new thoughts are clouded in
'She must be talking to her new boyfriend'
'He must be happy with his new girl'

What do all these assumptions mean?
It's only the beginning of a new hurricane
A hurricane filled with tears and emotions
And decisions are taken too quick
She slits her wrist bleeding emotions
And now it’s too late to think

His heart beats faster as he rushes over to her house
Little did he know she’d be lying unconscious?
He rushes towards her
And finds a piece of paper in her fist
When he opens it, he is surprised to see
His name scribbled all over it

With tears rolling down his cheek
He carries her to the hospital
The doctor breaks the news that she is no more
Wailing and mourning takes place all around
And there he collapses, dying inside

What would’ve happened if he’d confessed his love?
What would’ve happened if he’d kept his ego aside?
Would things be different?
Would she be alive?
With all these questions, regrets, and cursing himself
Only nostalgic memories comforting him

He opens his eyes
And there she is
The beautiful girl
Wiping his tears away
And there it is, the moment
Every second, every minute,
Feeling like heaven
As he holds her in his arms
And tells her he loves her
There’s nothing more precious
Than her beautiful smile as she whispers

“I Love You Too”
