The Smoker's Lullaby

She was like a cigarette to him
He started with a small talk
And day by day
She started getting close
So close that he couldn't live without her
She became his bad habit
There was no way to break the habit She was leading him towards death He happily followed her Cause he trusted her Just when he was about to quit smoking He held her with his lips one last time All the memories flashed by Good or bad, happy or sad Yet, he wanted to become a better person And just when he was about to light the cigarette He did not see the light coming from the other end Death was vicious for him And he died lingering on her lips
